The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to individuals who have served the Association on multiple occasions in a variety of capacities. Candidates shall have made significant and specific contributions to the growth and enhancement of the cost engineering profession and total cost management. Minimum requirements are: a) Membership in AACE International for twenty (20) years; b) previous service to AACE as a member of the Board of Directors or as an active member of one or more associate board; c) previously been recognized having received two or more of the following: Award of Merit, Brian D. Dunfield Educational Service Award, Keane Award for Distinguished Service to an AACE Section, Honorary Life Membership, O.T. Zimmerman Founder’s Award, or the TCM Excellence Award; and d) must be a Fellow of AACE. It is the highest award AACE bestows on an individual. Membership in AACE is required.

Valerie G. Venters, ECCP FAACE Hon. Life – Since joining AACE in 1998, Valerie became a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) in 2001. She has been an active member of the Houston Gulf Coast Section for a number of years, holding a variety of positions. She was a founding member of the Women in Project Controls (WPC) Committee (2005) and served as Chair (2007-2009), during which time the WPC was promoted from a task force to a standing committee. She has mentored numerous women and young professionals within AACE and the profession for decades. She has been a member of the AACE Certification Board (2003-2005; 2009-2022; 2024-present). Valerie served on AACE’s Board of Directors as Director-Region 5 (2005-2007) and Vice President-Certification Board (2016-2018). When AACE created the Certification Institute in 2022, Valerie was the consummate leader and stepped up once again, serving as the first chair of the Certification Institute (2022-2023). Valerie has previously been recognized by the Association as Outstanding Regional Director (2006), Fellow (2010), O.T. Zimmerman Founder’s Award (2012), the TCM Excellence Award (2014), and the Keane Award for Distinguished Service to an AACE Section (2019), Honorary Life Member (2022).
