Who We Are

With 7,000 members in 100 countries, AACE International has been serving the total cost management community since 1956. We are committed to the constructive exchange of ideas between members, development of technical guidance and quality education and recognition of subject matter experts. Our members work in a variety of disciplines and across all industries.

For over 40 years AACE has been certifying individuals. We offer the following certifications: Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Certified Cost Technician (CCT), Certified Estimating Professional (CEP), Certified Forensic Claims Consultant (CFCC), Earned Value Professional (EVP), Decision and Risk Management Professional (DRMP), Certified Scheduling Technician (CST) and Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP). AACE’s CCP, CCT, CEP, CST, EVP, and PSP certifications are independently accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards.

What Does "AACE" Stand For?

The legal name since 1992 is AACE International. In 1956 the organization was established as the American Association of Cost Engineers. While you may have seen that “AACE” stands for the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, this is only a statement that encompasses the work of the Association, not a legal name.

December 2019 Source Now Available

We are wrapping up another year with Source magazine and have posted the December 2019 issue for AACE International members and for anyone who wants to log in and view this or prior issues back to 2012 when we introduced Source magazine.

The highlight of the December Source is the full slate of candidates, bios, goals and objectives for those seeking election to the AACE International Board of Directors and/or the associate Membership Board which is made up of Director-Region representatives.

James E. Krebs, PE CCP FAACE, is unopposed for the office of President-Elect; while Patrick M. Kelly, PE PSP, is seeking re-election to the office of Vice President-Finance and will face Felix Soto, EVP PSP, on the ballot.  President-Elect and VP-Finance wraps up the AACE Board of Directors ballot.

Nine candidates are running for five openings on the associate Membership Board as Director-Region representatives and openings exist for Regions 1, 2,4,7 and 9.

Region 1 candidates are Sandra Mejia-Villegas, P.Eng. and Mustansir Raj, P.Eng., CCP.

Region 2 candidates are Michael J. Bennink, PE CCP PSP PMP, and Prad Maraj, PE PSP

Region 4 candidate Dayna Anderson is unopposed.

Region 7 candidates are Haya S. Saleh, PSP and Lucia Vernon, PSP

Region 9 candidates are Johnson Awoyomi, CCP CEP and Joao Paulo Matos Dias, PSP.

AACE International members can add candidates by petition up to December 14.  Electronic voting will open February 1, 2020 and end at 4 p.m. on March 15, 2020. AACE members as of Dec. 31, 2019 will be eligible to vote. Student members do not get to vote.

The Bonus technical article in the December Source is “Evaluating Project Performance Using Baseline Schedules by Dr. Nour El Imane Bouhou, Antoine Bechaalani, Kelly Pettersen and Dr. Marcello Azambuja.

President Douglas W. Leo, CCP CEP FAACE Hon Life., visited the Technical, Education and Certification board meetings and discussed “Providing the Best Products Possible” in his President’s Message.

Sami M. Jaroudi, CCP, Chair of the AACE Cost Engineering Subcommittee, presents a Technical Board article titled, “An Imminent Fundamental Transformation in the Contracts and Supply Chain Process.”

David A. Norfleet, CCP CFCC DRMP, the DRMP Certification chair, presents the Certification Board News article titled, “An Update on the DRMP Certification.”

Abhijnan Datta is featured in a “Member Profile” and shares what a leap of faith his recent move from Sydney, Australia to Amsterdam was, but he is settling in, having a fantastic experience and looking forward to continued learning and experiences.

Wandoline Simo is the Women in Project Controls spotlight profile for December, while Zach Hallstrom is the Rising Professional spotlight profile for the month.
