What Does "AACE" Stand For?

The legal name since 1992 is AACE International. In 1956 the organization was established as the American Association of Cost Engineers. While you may have seen that “AACE” stands for the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, this is only a statement that encompasses the work of the Association, not a legal name.

Abstract: Due to many factors affecting project management environment there is always a lot of uncertainty and complexity in the air, hence much more robust and rigorous approaches and methods are needed for successfully delivering the products (deliverable) and benefits. The most important issue is Front End Planning (FEP). It is the sponsor and the contractor both responsibility to have a deep understanding of the scope of project, the required budget and the risks associated with the project. This FEP along with continuous engagement of the governance team with all the phases of project paves the way for successful delivery. Finally to be successful the project managers should focus on the five KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), namely: scope management, quality management, time management, cost management and risk management. While all these performance measures are interrelated, intertwined and influence one another, the risk management one is about forecasting, prediction, preparedness, flexibility and ability to manage any of the other four impacting the outcome of project on the way forward. If these recommendations are implemented, the chances of success of project should increase.
