Who We Are

With 7,000 members in 100 countries, AACE International has been serving the total cost management community since 1956. We are committed to the constructive exchange of ideas between members, development of technical guidance and quality education and recognition of subject matter experts. Our members work in a variety of disciplines and across all industries.

For over 40 years AACE has been certifying individuals. We offer the following certifications: Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Certified Cost Technician (CCT), Certified Estimating Professional (CEP), Certified Forensic Claims Consultant (CFCC), Earned Value Professional (EVP), Decision and Risk Management Professional (DRMP), Certified Scheduling Technician (CST) and Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP). AACE’s CCP, CCT, CEP, CST, EVP, and PSP certifications are independently accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards.

What Does "AACE" Stand For?

The legal name since 1992 is AACE International. In 1956 the organization was established as the American Association of Cost Engineers. While you may have seen that “AACE” stands for the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, this is only a statement that encompasses the work of the Association, not a legal name.

2017 Slate of Candidates Announced

A slate of candidates for the 2017 AACE annual election has been posted at http://web.aacei.org/about-aace/structure/elections/slate-of-candidates for viewing by the AACE membership.  The slate was released Nov. 15 by the Nominating Committee, chaired by Past President Julie K. Owen, CCP PSP.  Candidates for all positions are listed in alphabetical order.

President-Elect: Alexia Nalewaik, CCP FAACE and Calvin Speight Jr., CCP.

VP-Administration: Logan Anjaneyulu, CCP CEP PSP; Chris Caddell, PE CCP DRMP; and Madhu Pillai, CCP FAACE.

VP-International Regions: Aldo Mattos, CCP, and Mohammed Rafiuddin, CCP PSP.


Regions 3, 5, 6, 8, and 10 will elect a Director-Region to the AACE Board of Directors.

Region 3: Myron Berry, CCP, and John C. Philbrick, PE CCP.

Region 5:
Josh Rowan, CCP, and Maureen Wakeland, PE.

Region 6:
Mike Bensussen and Mark von Leffern, EVP PSP.

Region 8:
Laurie Bowman, CCP DRMP EVP PSP, running unopposed.

Region 10:

Adding Candidates by Petition

The bylaws, Article II, Section 4 reads: “Other nominations for the office of Director, or the office of an Officer of the Association, except for the position of Vice President Technical Board, Vice President Education Board and Vice President Certification Board, may be made by petition signed by at least 20 members in good standing. The petitioners shall be responsible for (a) obtaining in writing the agreement of the nominee to serve if elected, (b) securing the biographical data of the nominee, (c) submitting the petitions, the agreement, and the biographical data to be received by the Vice President-Administration no later than December 15th of each year. Each candidate’s name and biographical data shall be made available to the membership no later than December 31st of each year.”

Voting will open on February 1, 2017, and will continue through 4 p.m. Eastern US time on March 15, 2017. Eligible voters will be AACE members with dues paid current as of Dec. 31, 2016. Anyone who renews or joins, in the period from Jan. 1, 2017 to March 15, 2017, will not be eligible to be added to the voter list, or to vote in the 2016-2017 election.
