March 19, 2020: AACE is continuing to accept and process certification exam applications. However, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Kryterion testing centers around the world are temporarily closed. There is an opportunity for eligible candidates to take an exam through online proctoringprovided minimum system requirements are met. Otherwise, eligible candidates are placed on a waiting list until Kryterion testing centers resume regular business hours.

Technician Level Certifications


Certified Cost Technician (CCT)

A CCT is an individual who has demonstrated proficiency in the basic skills and knowledge of total cost management. Generally, those seeking CCT certification represent early-career, young professionals who have not yet achieved the requisite years of experience needed to become certified as a Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or experienced mid- to late-career professionals who are working to advance their cost engineering skills.

Eligibility Requirements

  • 4 years of industry related experience, or
    4 years industry related degree
  • Adherence to AACE's Canons of Ethics

  • 3 hours maximum
  • 100 simple multiple choice questions
  • Open Book – using AACE's CCT Primer and S&K only (must be in a binder)
  • Any style, battery operated calculator permitted (not provided by the testing center)


Certified Scheduling Technician (CST)

A CST is an individual who has demonstrated proficiency in the general skills and knowledge of the scheduling process within the AACE International Total Cost Management (TCM) framework. Generally, CST represents early-career professionals who are working to gain the requisite years of experience, to become a certified Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or more experienced mid- to late-career professionals who wish to be recognized for their planning and scheduling skills.

  • 4 years of industry related experience, or
    4 years industry related degree
  • Adherence to AACE's Canons of Ethics

Technician Examination Investment

While AACE membership is not required for certification, members receive the benefit of reduced examination fees.

  • US$175 resit fee (member and non-members)

All fees are due upon submission of an application and are non-refundable. The fee includes our eligibility documentation review and computer based testing (CBT) fee.
